Cookie Policy
Last updated: February 26, 2026
What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. We also use similar technologies such as localStorage (browser-based storage) to remember your preferences. This policy covers both cookies and similar client-side storage mechanisms.
Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies (SuperTokens)
These cookies are required for authentication and cannot be disabled. Without them, you cannot sign in to the service.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
sAccessToken |
Session access token | Session |
sRefreshToken |
Session refresh token | Persistent |
sFrontToken |
Front-end session token | Session |
st-last-access-token-update |
Token refresh timestamp | Persistent |
Preference Storage (localStorage)
We use localStorage to remember your preferences. This is not cookie-based but serves a similar purpose. No personal data is stored in localStorage.
Examples of stored preferences:
- Distance unit (kilometres or miles)
- Surface preference (paved, unpaved, or no preference)
- Slider values (distance, hill preference)
- Map position and zoom level
Analytics Cookies (Highlight.io -- Planned)
When deployed, Highlight.io will be used for session replay and usage analytics to help us improve the service. These cookies will track:
- Page views and navigation patterns
- Feature interactions and click events
- Session recordings for debugging and UX improvement
A consent banner will be shown before any analytics cookies are set, as required for EU/UK GDPR compliance. You will be able to opt out of analytics cookies while continuing to use the service.
Third-Party Cookies
Google AdMob (mobile app only): On the free mobile app tier, Google AdMob may set cookies or use device identifiers for ad personalisation. This is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Desktop and web users are not affected by AdMob.
Managing Cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Privacy, Search, and Services > Cookies
Note: Disabling essential cookies (SuperTokens session cookies) will prevent you from signing in to the service. The service will still function for anonymous route generation.
Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date shown on this page.
